Field Studio Backpack
Take the camera, sound, encoding computer and connection with you. Build a portable production rig around your route, platform and runtime target.
Configuration review before purchase. Your request does not place an order.

A full production system in a portable rig.
Custom engineered quote. This is a proposed integrated configuration. Final packing, ventilation, carrier selection, power delivery and a route test are required before it is sold as an assembled system.
- 1 padded backpack with removable ventilated insert and cable management.
- 1 selected camera or 360 capture path, compact support and wireless microphone system.
- 1 mini production workstation with a supported hardware encoder and selected recording storage.
- 1 selected cellular router option, compatible antennas and approved carrier plans.
- A regulated DC battery system with protected outputs, charger, secured connections and a tested changeover method where uninterrupted operation is required.
- An optional enclosed Raspberry Pi telemetry node with cooling and supported sensors.
- Defined setup, platform profile, local-recording test and handover.
Packing target
Planning target: a 25–35 L pack, approximately 20–24 × 12–14 × 8–10 in. Weight, airflow, battery transport limits and cable exits are validated after component selection. Tripod and larger light stands travel separately.
Power and continuity
A stationary tower UPS is not the backpack power source. Use a purpose-built DC system. A power bank is not automatically an uninterrupted supply; supported pass-through, voltage and changeover must be tested.
Choose one of three connection paths.
These are router alternatives. Three routers are not included in every backpack. Carrier bands, regional hardware, plan terms, antennas and local coverage determine the final selection.
| Router | Use | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| GL.iNet Spitz AX | Portable dual-SIM cellular gateway | One active cellular path; SIM failover differs from bonded uplinks. |
| Teltonika RUTX50 | Managed dual-SIM 5G connection | SIM switching and wired-WAN fallback; interruption behavior requires testing. |
| Peplink BR2 Pro | Dual-modem multi-WAN production | Bonding endpoint, service entitlements, data plans and supported failover configuration. |
Multiple SIM slots provide carrier choices; simultaneous bonded streaming requires active links and an appropriate aggregation service. Data plans, roaming, bonding subscriptions and satellite fallback are separate commercial items.
We design for your locations. Coverage, congestion and local service availability affect every live stream. Local recording provides a recovery copy when a connection drops.

Proposed status reporting, with useful signals.
A Raspberry Pi can act as the telemetry collector while the mini workstation handles encoding. The integration can report a heartbeat every 60 seconds, plus alarms, when supported interfaces and a network connection are available.
- Selected router link state, signal metrics, carrier and data use.
- Workstation CPU temperature, encoder state, dropped frames and recording disk space.
- Battery voltage, charge or remaining runtime only when the power system exposes a supported sensor or API.
- Queued status records during an outage, then upload after reconnection.
Dashboard, remote access, alert recipients, retention and monitoring service are defined in the quote. These integrations are proposed; this page does not represent a deployed monitoring service.
